THE GENERAL FORUM
The General Forum is the primary policy
making body of the OPA.
The Forum Consists of Representatives of the
Member Associations nominated on the basis
of one representative for the first one
hundred members or any part thereof and one
additional Representative for every
additional 200 members upto a maximum of
eleven representatives. Members of the
Executive Council are members of the Forum.
The forum should meet at least thrice a
Year
Presently the total members of the Forum is
210
The power and functions of the Forum as
defined in clause 6.3 of the constitution
are as follows.
(a) to
hold Election of Office Bearers as
hereinafter provided.
(b) To
discuss and consider nay matters or
questions within the scope of the objects
and principles of the Organisation or any
matters duly raised at the specific instance
any of the Member Associations: the Forum
shall be the primary policy making of the
Organisation.
(c) To
initiate studies and investigations on any
matters relating to the activities of the
Organisation and to set up any subsidiary
organ as may be necessary to pursue such
interest.
(d) To
suspend or remove any Member Association
from the Organisation or take such other
disciplinary action as it may consider
necessary against a member Association
reported to it by the Executive Council.
(e) To
meet annually in or about the month of
October and in such other general or special
session as occasion may require. A special
session shall be convened by the General
Secretary at the request of the president,
the Executive council or by not less than
ten of the members of the General Forum.
(f) To
ratify the addition of Professions to the
Schedule of Professions in terms of ch 4.2
(b) of the OPA Constitution and the
admission of professional bodies seeking
membership in terms of Ch 4.3
(g) To
consider and adopt the audited accounts or
other reports or accounts of the
Organsation.
(h)
To appoint auditors of the Organisation
